Identity Verification (Know Your Customer, or KYC) is a standard procedure in financial services. Roogoo requires users to complete this verification primarily for the following reasons:

1. International Regulatory & Legal Compliance

The card services provided by Roogoo are operated in partnership with regulated international banks and payment institutions. Under international Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) laws, financial institutions must verify the true identity of fund users.

  • Risk of Non-Compliance: Without verification, banks cannot open accounts or issue cards for you, and the platform may face the risk of being shut down by regulatory authorities.

2. Protecting Your Account and Asset Security

Identity verification uniquely links your personal identity to your account assets.

  • Preventing Unauthorized Use: If your account is compromised, your verified information serves as the strongest evidence to recover the account, freeze cards, and mitigate losses.

  • Fraud Prevention: Through facial recognition and document matching, we can effectively prevent others from fraudulently issuing cards in your name, protecting your credit and reputation.

I. Eligibility Requirements

  • Sanctions Restrictions: Citizens of sanctioned countries are not eligible.

  • Age Requirement: Must be between 18 and 65 years old.

  • Single-Account Policy: Only one Roogoo account per individual is permitted. Even if you hold different identification documents (e.g., ID card, passport, driver's license), the system allows only one verified account. Duplicate registrations are strictly prohibited.

  • Personal Operation: You must use your own documents and complete the live face scan yourself.

II. Document Photo Standards (Crucial)

To ensure a successful Sumsub audit, please strictly adhere to the following photo standards:

  • Original Photos Only: You must take a photo of the original physical document. Photocopies, scans, screenshots, or images processed via Photoshop, beautification apps, blurring, watermarking, or color filtering are strictly prohibited.

  • Clarity and Lighting: Ensure even lighting. Avoid glare or reflections that cover text or portraits. All information must be clearly legible.

  • Native Camera: Some Android devices automatically modify image metadata. Please turn off beauty modes and filters, and use the native camera function.

III. Operating Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Access Permissions: Ensure your browser has permission to access your Camera and Photos beforehand.

  • Real-time Capture: We highly recommend using the camera to take a live photo rather than selecting an old photo from your album.

  • Technical Support:

    • If you encounter upload issues, try restarting your browser or switching to Google Chrome.

    • If your current device fails the verification, you may use a different phone to scan the QR code. There is no need to log into your account on the other device.

    • If your submission is authentic and compliant but verification still fails, please contact our official customer support.

IV. Data Security & Compliance

  • Professional Storage: Your KYC information is stored by Sumsub, a world-leading, compliant platform, and is shared directly with our partner banks. Sumsub is recognized by multiple regulatory bodies, ensuring your privacy and data security.

  • Integrity Obligation: You must provide authentic and valid documents. Providing fraudulent materials or failing to meet eligibility requirements may lead to card freezing/cancellation by the bank, and your Roogoo account will be permanently banned.

  • Final Decision: KYC results are determined independently by Sumsub and the banking systems. The Roogoo platform does not interfere with the verification results.
